Brighton Travel Guide
Welcome to Brighton, MI!
Skiing is the chief draw to the community of Brighton, located just northwest of Detroit in southeastern Michigan. With seven chair lifts, 10 rope tows, several runs, equipment rentals and professional instructors, Mt. Brighton Ski Area ranks among Michigan's top skiing and snowboarding destinations. Although the ski hill is closed from roughly April to October, the summer months yield exceptional golfing at Brighton's three courses—Jackal Golf Club, Huntmore Golf Club and Oak Pointe Country Club. Adventurous travelers appreciate the opportunity to in-line skate at RolleRama or embark on a scuba diving trip with Aquatic Adventures. Brighton and Island Lake recreation areas feature a host of facilities and miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Brighton has plenty of relaxing activities as well, from browsing art galleries and shops to having a drink at a local cafe. Just 45 minutes away from Detroit, Brighton is still convenient to many Motor City attractions.
